Privacy Policy for Space Station Racer
General
Space Station Racer never makes data available to us or to third parties without your express permission. The app only ever makes the following types of information available to anyone:
- Game Center Achievements und Scores
- App Analytics collected by Apple on our behalf
Both these Features are used only if you explicitly enabled them from within your device’s settings or during the initial configuration of your device.
Space Station Racer also records and stores your game progress and any options you select within the game. These are, however, only stored on your device and in your iCloud storage, and never made available to us or any third parties.
Game Progress
Space Station Racer tracks and saves your game progress, consisting of the following data:
- The time you spent playing,
- the number of practice rounds, qualification runs, and races you played,
- qualifications and medals you obtained, and
- time and distance records you set.
These data are required for the game to fulfil its primary function. They can be viewed from within the game under ”Progress“ in the main menu. They are stored both locally on your device and inside your iCloud storage, where they are accessible only by you or any person or persons you may have given access to your device or your iCloud account.
Storing the progress data in iCloud enables Space Station Racer to synchronize your progress between your different devices. You can deactivate iCloud storage from within your device’s settings, in which case progress you achieve on one device will no longer appear on your other devices. The game will otherwise remain fully functional.
Game Options
Space Station Racer also records and saves any and all options you select in the app. This includes options you explicitly select, as well as implicit options that are automatically recorded as the result of certain actions you take in the game. The following options are recorded:
- The selected colors and liveries,
- the selected control layout,
- the last selected space station and event, and
- an option indicating whether you have seen or been made aware of the instructions yet.
This information is stored in order to preserve it across launches of the app, and to synchronize it between your different devices. Like the game progress, these options are only ever stored locally on your device and inside your iCloud storage, where they are only accessible only by you or any person or persons you may have given access to your device or your iCloud account.
Storage of your game options in iCloud can be disabled within your device’s settings, in which case options you selected are no longer transferred to your other devices. The game will otherwise remain fully functional.
Game Center Data
If you are logged into Game Center, Space Station Racer also collects the following data:
- Progress on Game Center achievements,
- lap times, and
- race results, in the form of time taken or rounds completed.
This information is sent to apple to be stored in your Game Center profile. This data is neither anonymous nor secret, but is visible, at least partially, to other game center users. Your high scores, for example, may appear in leaderboards next to your Game Center nickname.
Game Center data is only transmitted if you have logged into Game Center, either from within your device’s settings, during the initial configuration of your device, or from within another game. Please note that Game Center is always enabled or disabled for the entire device: if you log into Game Center from within another game, it is automatically enabled for Space Station Racer as well. Space Station Racer itself does not provide any way to log into Game Center. You must use your device’s settings or another game to log into Game Center.
Game Center data is sent directly from your device to apple, where it is used exclusively for your Game Center profile. The data is never sent to us, either directly or indirectly.
Because storage and administration of Game Center data is performed by Apple, it is subject to Apple’s privacy policy. For more detailed information about how exactly Apple handles your data, please refer to the Game Center Terms and Conditions and the Game Center Privacy Policy. Both are available on Apple’s web site, or directly on your device. To access the Game Center Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy on your device, open the “Settings” app, go to the “Game Center” page and tap on your nickname.

If you enabled sharing of analytics with developers in your device’s settings, or during the initial configuration of your device, Apple may collect certain anonymized and aggregated usage data related to Space Station Racer and make it available to us, the developer. The data are used by us to improve Space Station Racer, (for instance, by adding new languages for popular regions), and to identify and correct problems such as crashes or excessive battery usage.
In your device’s settings, you can specify whether Apple should make analytics available to developers like us.
